Accounting Associate Job description
Provide efficient and accurate processing of customer payments, customer invoices, research and execution of journal entries with attention to necessary deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Knowledge of the following required;
Process lockbox payments – Import data and post payments
Process payments received in house
Scan, store data and post payments Process credit card payments –
Import data, run cards via website, post payments. Invoicing –
Print invoices three times daily, verify accuracy, apply deposits and execute any necessary or requested revisions.
Research unapplied payments/credit balances –
Resolve by means of application or refund.
Field Inquiries – Answer high volume of internal and external customer questions.
Calculate and post journal entries for Interest on Deposits.
Write-offs – tax related or account clean up as determined or requested.
Work effectively to manage workflow.
General Accounting Support – Provide backup for other AIA Accounting Associates.
Excellent communication skills. Flexibility. Good organization skills. Efficiency and attention to detail. Adapts well to change Ability to work in a team environment.
High school diploma required, Associates Degree in Accounting preferred 3 -5 years previous related Accounting experience.
Excellent teamwork skills. Proven effective interpersonal skills. Efficiency and accuracy with a 10 key adding machine. Excel, Microsoft Word, and Windows proficiency.
