Accounting Manager Job Description

Manages accounts payable and various general accounting services. Provides direct support in the management of the Company’s general ledger. Involved in the preparation, review and analysis of the Company’s consolidated financial statements

 Manages accounts payables and various general accounting services (25%)

 Provides support in the management of general ledger. (25%)

 Provides support for the preparation, review and analysis of corporate consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. (20%)

 Provide support during the quarterly reviews and year-end audit including resolution of auditor inquiries and the compilation of required records, schedules and information requests. (10%)

 Supports the development, review and analysis of the Company’s consolidated financial forecasts. (10%)

 

 Coordinates financial systems and procedures with Information Systems department including defining user requirements, resolving problems and developing enhanced reporting. (5%)

Develops and maintains FSG and other automated financial reporting as needed. (5%)

 Responds to requests from internal and external parties for various financial information and analysis, assistance with the resolution of problems as required. (5%)

 Manages the pursuit of process improvement initiatives and compliance within areas of responsibility with Section 404 requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley Act. (5%)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Directly supervises 3 employees in the Financial Services Department. Direct responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, checking, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; managing costs of areas of responsibility; operation methods; establishing standards of performance; maintaining quality standards; interpreting/shaping policy; and carrying out established policy.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

The education requirements and experience requirement listed here indicate the minimum basic educational knowledge and minimum previous work-related experience required by the job duties of the position.

 

Education:

Professional, technical or administrative training. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration including extensive course work in accounting and finance.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in industry with a background in general accounting processes, manufacturing accounting and related financial analysis, automated accounting systems (preferably Oracle) and PC software (Excel and Word). Requires minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience
