Assistant Producer Job TV -Job Description
Working with both internal and external partners, we commission and create large scale events, multi-platform resources & outreach activity that adds real value to existing content.
Assistant Producers play a key role in the day to day production, design and delivery of audience focused initiatives. They report to Producers.
To support the Producer and project team in achieving organisational and team objectives and deputising for the Producer as required.
To support and /or take responsibility on designated worksteams, for the production of a range of first class content including workshops, road shows and multi-platform resources.
To work collaboratively with outside organisations to maximise the potential in everything we do.
To assist in achieving editorial excellence on a range of projects - ensuring everything we do has high production values with real audience takeout in line with aims and ambitions.
Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate effectively both internally and with external agencies/ partners.
An awareness of current marketing techniques.
Ability to effectively profile and manage a budget as required.
A demonstrable passion and knowledge for output and new media
A clear understanding of the needs and profiles of target audiences and the ability to translate this into imaginative and compelling content ideas
Ability to make the most efficient use of resources and to operate within financial and other restraints
Demonstrable sound editorial judgement and written journalistic skills
Experience in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
To develop excellent contacts and to initiate and maintain effective, mutually beneficial collaborations both inside and outside the company.
To take responsibility for the effective line management of Researchers or other project staff where this is agreed with the Executive Producer and Producer.
To maximise the effective use of resources and expertise to ensure projects are cost effective and deliver genuine audience value.
To help develop new and creative ways of reaching target audiences ensuring that these are routed in sound audience insight and research
Highly developed organising and planning skills - able to schedule and prioritise and to bring projects in on time and budget.
The ability to generate a mixture of creative and pragmatic solutions to challenges.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to effectively line manage staff when required to do so, in ways that encourage and support excellent performance.
