Assessment and reporting

Manage the collection, storage and reporting of student assessment data

 

Organise the collection of internal assessment data, chasing queries and keeping HODs informed. Assisting those staff members who experience difficulties

Importing and exporting data within SIMs

 

Maximise the use of SIMS Assessment Manager

Maintain records of student progress data and produce analyses for use by teaching staff Importing and managing data from external sources eg CAT, FFT forecasts.

 

Generate and publish reports on student progress, ensuring that any parent that wishes to be kept informed of progress is issued with reports.

 

Produce pro forma for reporting to parents Liaise with teaching staff to ensure that they meet published deadlines within the assessment schedule. Liaising with Schools SIMs support team on software problems. nforming Primary Schools of the results of ex pupils

The Data manager will provide the production and analysis of data relevant to pupil progress and school effectiveness. He/she will maximise the effectiveness of software packages and data analysis tools.

Attendance

To maximise the use of SIMS Attendance and PARS computer programmes in obtaining and analysing attendance data and ensure that this data is accessible to teachers and tutors

 

To devise and generate reports on attendance as requested by Key Stage and pastoral Managers and produce returns on attendance as required from time to time by the Local Authority and DfES.

 

Assist Education Welfare Office and Attendance Officer in producing reports on absence, and creating documents for court action.

 

Analysis of Pupil Performance Data

 

To produce statistical analyses of pupil examination data on publication of examination results for use by teaching staff. This will involve work on a specific, but limited number of, days during the school summer holiday. Liaise with HODs, HOH etc relating to assessment, recording and reporting. Collate and analyse end of key stage data for evaluation by teaching staff Analyse and present pupil performance data providing summaries of the achievement of cohorts and identified groups e.g. gifted and talented, SEN, boys, girls Develop the use of RAISE Online, FFT and any other analytical tools

 

Staff Training Contribute to the training of staff in the use of software applications relevant to the post Provide advice and guidance to staff as required

Qualifications And Experience

Experience of software applications

Experience of working in an office environment.

GCSE A-C in Maths & English

Two or more A levels in relevant subjects

Prior use of SIMS, in particular Assessment Manager and Nova-T

 

(Knowledge, abilities, skills, experience)

High level of ICT literacy including use of Microsoft Excel

Able to work unsupervised and show initiative, manage and prioritise workload.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

A very good standard of numeracy
