Support the creation/review of the Data Migration Strategy will include the potential for both bulk and delta migrations.
Specify and manage the approval of the Data Migration
Specify and manage the approval of the requirement and approach to viewing historic legacy data which is not to be migrated including any exceptional need for updating such data.
Contribute to the project plans relating to the Data Migration processes to be adopted.

Data Analysis Processes
Support and manage the review of IFFs or similar (including data quality standards)
Ensure that queries relating to Data Migration are resolved with the appropriate parties. This should cover all stages of the processes from strategy to detailed data mapping and data transformation.
Produce an as-is data definition data from the current legacy systems. This should include historical data.
Perform a data mapping of the legacy system data fields to the new system data fields. This should include detailed specifications of any data transformation required to support the Data Migration process.
Work with legacy system suppliers to support the data migration processes.
Work with the new suppliers to support the data migration processes.
Brief the Programme leads on reconciliation and rejection reports, and help in the resolution of the defects / rejects.
Data Migration Technical Build
Build the system processes necessary to perform the Data Migration.
Extract and transform the agreed open and historical data
Specify and manage the requirement approach and approach to data cleansing – prior to any migration activity
Verify the data following load into the new solution
Work with the suppliers to resolve any issues surrounding the data migration activity
Ensure that the data as produced satisfies the data quality standards and other external bodies such as IQAP.
Data Migration Testing, Implementation and Cutover Processes
Support system testing and deployment testing in the following areas – test data preparation, test specifications, test conditions, test cases, testing, analysis and reconciliation of test results and defect resolution
Analyse and verify the reconciliation and rejection reports generated during the pre-load verification, trial load, bulk load, and delta-load stages
Verify the data that has been uploaded into the new solution
Ensure that any data errors identified during the testing and trial loads are rectified to ensure the highest level of data integrity.
Specify and manage the approval of the arrangements for data management during the transition stage between data migration and the onset of new system operation
Provide testing and go live support as required
Support the planning and execution of the cut-over process
Responsible for progressing the Data Migration to the new platform. Work as part of the Programme Team in the preparation, implementation and cutover to the new systems. This will require close working with the programme team and associated workstreams.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Degree in a field that emphasizes technical, creative and analytical skills or equivalent work experience
Strong experience developing, installing or supporting data migration
Proven experience in writing and performing software test scripts in a development environment
Previous healthcare care experience
Migration of electronic care records/ IT healthcare systems or Patient Administration Systems
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Ability to work in a fast paced, target driven environment, working to gate reviews and contractual deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with multiple levels of staff regarding technical issues in terms that can be understood by all parties
Ability to follow proper conversion design, programming and documentation procedures
Strong product knowledge of incumbent application’s data requirements Ability to use database query tools and operating system utilities
Strong analytical skills Knowledge of PRINCE2 methodology and how to apply it
Organised, logical and methodical with the ability to multi task effectively
Able to work in stressful and high pressure environments Good problem solving skills and basic common sense
Good understanding of responsibilities for confidentiality & data protection
Ability to work without supervision, use own initiative and prioritise workload
