Director of Marketing job description

This person will direct marketing programs and corporate communications, leveraging creativity to present our company message to the marketplace, such that prospective clients find us, identify themselves as prospects and enter our sales process.  The person must grow the company and help monetize a pool of analysts, clients, bloggers, prospects, thought leaders, employees and influencers to help us achieve our strategic goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on marketing leader to achieve further success with an established and creative global software company.

 Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales, the Vice President of Professional Services and their teams in developing case studies, public storytelling, conducting lead-generating webinars, content for marcomm and sales references.

 Plan, develop and manage corporate communications including industry analyst and media relations.

 Develop and execute a plan to build an active community of bloggers and influencers using a wide variety of social media including, for example, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, online associations and community forums.

 

 Monitor online and social channels for reputation and response management; acting on and routing issues, as appropriate, to manage them.

 

 Using a mix of appropriate methods, generate a buzz in the industry and increase lead flow and interest so we can rapidly expand our market share.

 Drive the evolution of the website to enable sales via increased lead flow.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

 Expertise in the marketing of business focused application software

 Experience marketing effectively to the SaaS marketplace

 Experience in B2B public relations, marketing communications and social media with a strong understanding of online marketing

 Web marketing experience a must

 Previous management experience required

 A strong self-starter with personal initiative and drive

 Strong organization skills, attention to detail, creative, thorough

 Gartner and Forrester experience a plus

 BA/BS in Marketing or Business; Master’s preferred

 

 Align marketing activities to support realization of objectives in the strategic plan.

 Organize, plan, produce and conduct the annual Metrix Customer Conference.

 

 Complete a competition analysis on a regular basis. Gather, organize, condense and present feedback and intelligence on national and global competitors.

 Identify candidates for partnering opportunities, and work with VPs in presenting, proposing and deciding which ones to pursue.

 

 Collaborate with others across the organization to achieve not only marketing goals, but to also ensure that strategic objectives are met across the company

 

 Conduct annual performance appraisals for your direct reports.
