Job Summary

To ensure that staff throughout the company understand our equality duties and take action to deliver against these.

 

To pro-actively work with all business areas to ensure that discrimination is eliminated and opportunities to promote equality are taken. Using diversity and equality expertise to advise and support business areas to deliver good quality equality impact assessments.

To support HR Business Partners, staff and managers on diversity related issues, and to oversee the reasonable adjustment process for staff and to ensure that adjustments are made in a professional and timely manner.

Main responsibilities-Diversity Manager job description

To raise awareness of the equalities legislation amongst all staff through appropriate communication channels and specific and general training interventions.

 

To provide general diversity awareness training to all staff throughout the company.

 

To deliver equality impact assessment workshops for all policy makers, and staff.

 

To run the company Diversity Group, and through the members of this group produce, review and publish Disability, Race and Gender Action Plans.

 

Provide leadership, advice and guidance to teams across the company undertaking equality impact assessments.

 

Provide advice and guidance to HR Business partners, managers and individuals on all aspects of the diversity agenda.

 

To implement the actions arising from the company Strategy on diversity `Promoting Equality Valuing Diversity`.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-Diversity Manager job description

Qualifications

 

Essential:

The postholder must have an understanding of the diversity agenda and experience in the equality and diversity environment.

They must have the strategic understanding of what is required to progress on equality and diversity in the company.

They must also have experience of influencing others to deliver against the diversity agenda in their particular business areas.

 

Desirable:

CIPD qualified.

Experience of carrying out equality impact assessments. Experience of working with groups protected by equality laws.
