Head of Infrastructure Job Description

 To be responsible for the development of network Infrastructure services for  ICT Services

 To be responsible for network infrastructure policies and procedures and agreed with the Head of ICT

 

 To provide strategic leadership and operational management for infrastructure services, to ensure that ICT services to  its clients, are delivered to agreed standards

 To actively participate in the ICT Senior Management Team

 

 To lead the development of key performance indicators and performance management reports for network services in partnership with clients, to assess and monitor the quality of the services provided

 

 To manage, develop and train staff within the Infrastructure team, ensuring that they are motivated and equipped to deliver a high quality service to agreed standards

 

 To ensure that the network adheres to relevant standards including those set out by law, by the Informatrion Commissioner and other regulatory and statutory bodies

 

 To identify appropriate national, London and local guidelines, and industry good practice, and ensure that arrangements meet these

 

 To be responsible for budget management for the network infrastructure service

 

 To lead on the development of the  network, including procurement, future-proofing and options development and appraisal

 

 To lead the implementation of all ICT security policies ensuring compliance with Information governance, legal, regulatory and mandatory requirements, including those for data protection confidentiality and security.

 

 To plan, design and install new network solutions, co-ordinating project groups, consultants and suppliers so that the solutions meets identified requirements, budgets and timescales.

 

 To maintain a professional approach at all times, and to represent the ICT service to a professional level

 To work at a variety of sites as required to deliver the role

 

 To lead on disaster recovery and business continuity plans and procedures

 

 To be a key lead within the ICT on call arrangement

 

 Any other tasks as defined by the Head of ICT.

 

Education & qualifications

 Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience

 Evidence of continuous professional development

 PRINCE2 Practitioner

 MSP practitioner

 

Experience & Abilities

 Significant experience of service management

 Significant experience of managing an ICT service

 Significant experience of managing a programme of activity, including budgets of over £1m

 Significant experience of staff management

 Experience of developing effective relationships with a range of clients

 Record of achievement in a pressured, change orientated environment

 Experience of developing business cases

 Experience of NHS information security requirements and translating them into local practice

 To be responsible for an integrated data and voice service that supports the changing and developing needs of clients in accordance with local, London and national initiatives and policies.

 

 To ensure the provision and maintenance of operational IT & Voice services, that are secuire, reliable and value for money
