Providing business partnering to business/corporate/regional management teams on all people issues enabling them to deliver company strategy. Providing strategic direction and insight on all people issues. Owning Human Resources functional responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-HRBP job description

Liaise with subject matter experts within the broader Human Resources function (e.g. Recruitment, Reward and TLOD) to provide consultancy and advice within the business.


Execute global learning and development programmes through coaching and partnering with TLOD. This includes assisting with the implementation and ongoing review of such programmes in the business in order to develop line management capability and support the business to deliver results.


Facilitate the introduction of global processes (recruitment and talent) to business leaders to support the hiring and retention of staff and develop the skills and calibre of individuals to support the business.


Coach and develop local management teams on all people related matters, providing strategic direction and insight in order to achieve optimum people performance.


Manage all local employee relations issues providing subject matter expertise to local management team.


Work with local unions on individual employment matters


Provide coaching and mentoring for HR Advisors to assist with building a high calibre team with the skills and capabilities needed to deliver the required results.


Scope & Impact


Decisions are guided by company and functional strategies and objectives.


Acts as champion for HR programmes and innovation across the business/ corporate/regional group as a contributory factor to the achievement of overall strategic aims.


Strategic Planning & Decision Making


Adapts and executes strategy to achieve key business objectives in area of responsibility


Provides expert advice on organisation design, talent and succession planning and overall performance and reward, to ensure effective workforce in place to deliver on strategy.



Regular (at least weekly) face-to-face / phone / email contact with corporate/ business/ regional senior management team and Head of HR, to input into regional business decisions , receive / exchange information / instructions.













Occasional face-to-face / phone / email contact with HR specialists groups, provide / receive / exchange information / instructions.


Influence and coach middle and senior managers with focus on personal development and people related issues



Advanced IT skills


RSA III/NVQ 3 or equivalent.


Trained and experienced at intermediate level in a range of software packages


Good standard of English & Numerate


ECDL qualification


Advanced secretarial skills such as audio and voice recognition software


At least 2/3 years experience in a secretarial environment




The ability to organise and prioritise own workload within any specified guidelines where guidance

is not readily available, but at set intervals


Proficient in diary management co-ordinating appointments to ensure best use of Managers’ time


Experience of transcribing formal minutes of meetings.


Independent/lone working and team working skills


Experience of adapting to change and managing work in a changing environment


Evidence of ability to be flexible and show initiative, sensitivity and enthusiasm to work

Partner with local and senior management teams to develop and facilitate the execution of the People Plan, building and implementing Human Resources solutions, to support the growth of the business and the overall Strategy.


Deliver recommendations and solutions covering multiple areas of human resources (including recruitment, performance management, reward, benefits, organisational design and change management) to provide an efficient and effective HR service which supports best practice, reduces risk and ensures global consistency and fairness.


Partner with local management teams, to develop and implement new global practices and processes which meet the organisation's needs, help to resolve strategic business issues, promote a performance led organisation and embed the  values.
