Job Summary-Information Security & Governance Specialist job description

Will involve advising on specific internal communications issues, drafting content for various channels and presentations and leading on face-to-face events.   To proactively identify creative IC opportunities that are relevant to the brief and to lead on the implementation of these initiatives working with the wider communications colleagues as needed.

•Direct internal communications experience in a comparable role.


•Ability to plan, implement and manage a communications strategy.


•Experience of working with senior stakeholders and directors.


•Proven writing and editing skills. Sound editorial judgement, having worked across multiple channels.


•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, other software packages desirable.


•Experience of working in a large, complex organisation.






Creativity:  A creative approach to communications. Ability to develop new and engaging ways of delivering key messages or activity to all staff for Divisions across multiple media.














Communication: Good writing, editing and verbal communication skills.  Ability to draft and edit content for presentations and scripts. Good interpersonal and communication skills.  Strong diplomatic and ambassadorial skills.  The ability to get messages across by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and nature of information.


Managing relationships and team working: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior managers and a range of people including third party suppliers. Good understanding of company structure and how to ensure the correct information flows through it by identifying and knowing the right people to work with. A collaborative, motivational approach to working within a wider team.  


Influencing and persuading:  Ability to present sound and well reasoned arguments to convince others. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change.  


Planning & Organising:  Excellent project management skills, preparing project plans with timescales.  Able to think ahead, prioritise and plan activities taking into account all the relevant issues such as deadlines, staffing and resource requirements. Excellent attention to detail in managing sensitive data and producing professional schedules.  


Technical:  Good IT and pc skills, preparing newsletters, presentations and updating of websites etc. Preferably with good knowledge of standard desktop applications.

Free Job description Information Security & Governance Specialist

•Help to shape the new IC plan.


•Work with the IC Network and others to identify the best creative IC opportunities to engage staff. Develop the proposals with benefits, costings and risks.


•Project manage various events and activities as required.



•Build a network of relationships / contacts across the division and the company who can assist in delivery of projects and campaigns.


•Develop the IC tools and templates required for divisional and pan company projects – briefing documents for events, emails, presentations and measurement.


•Ensure appropriate legal and contractual arrangements are in place when engaging any external suppliers.


•Comply with all relevant safety rules, procedures and guidelines. To be aware of responsibilities under the safety policy.


To support the engagement programme and advise and lead on divisional campaigns to support the divisions' overall communication strategies and objectives.


5.To produce set piece IC events as required and to work with the Manager in developing the content.

•Take, write and interpret project briefs from Manager and senior level internal clients.  Provide input on the most appropriate methods of delivery of the communication objectives for the project.


•Work to develop and deliver the annual IC plan for the client areas to include milestones, dates and interdependencies with other divisions.
