Job Description Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Ensure secure funding of cases, by private means, by conditional fees or by legal aid
Compliance with the office manual and departmental procedures
Accuracy of work as delegated to others
Promotion of the Partnership
Management of direct support staff
3.1 Conduct of own caseload within the Office
3.2 Attendance on clients and others in order to take statements, obtain information, make appointments
and complete Legal Services Commission (LSC) forms.
3.3 Instruction of experts and/or Counsel as appropriate.
3.4 Undertake advocacy, where appropriate, in any case or matter.
3.5 To ensure monies are obtained from the Legal Services Commission and private clients on account
by interim and final billing.
3.6 To draft legal documents as appropriate.
3.7 To arrange for filing of documents, service of documents and enforcement as appropriate.
3.8 To authorise payment to third parties.
3.9 To undertake continuing professional development (CPD) as required by the Law Society.
4.0 To abide by all professional rules of conduct.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
1.1 Admitted as a solicitor and has his/her name on the roll
1.2 Has in force a practising certificate
1.3 Good client care skills
1.4 Good management, communication, marketing and organisational skills.
1.5 Basic computer literacy.
4.1 To keep up to date with all relevant law and procedure.
4.2 To attend departmental meetings as required
4.3 To undertake such other duties as and when required by the Partnership.
