Job Description for a Business Manager
Provides accounting information to assigned offices.
Coordinates with Corporate Accounting to ensure that all costs and reserves are recorded consistently and on a timely basis.
Acts as a resource to office technical staff for preparation of federal government cost proposals, ensures compliance with government contracting policies, and reviews contracts and coordinates revisions and proposals.
Ensures that established corporate financial policies are implemented and followed.
Supports the Division Manager with office performance analysis and recommendations to enhance profitability.
Analyzes and reports on office overhead costs, capital expenditures, and revenue-producing in-house cost centers.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field.
7+ years of related experience with an engineering, consulting, or professional services company.
Management and leadership ability to supervise diverse functions and to prioritize schedules and requirements.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge of accounting theory and contracts administration.
Thorough understanding of reporting requirements and regulations in accordance with GAAP.
Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
If the job requires solo work assignments outside the office, then a valid driver's license is required.
Drug screen, background check, and social security # verification.
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
Develops financial budget and business plan and monitors and reports on office performance versus plan.
Assists with proposal review and provides ongoing individual project variance analysis to budget.

Directs operations pertaining to accounting activities including project accounting systems, billing and collections, accounts payable, and fixed asset control.
