 Manage, mentor and train a staff to ensure as new opportunities arise that staff are ready to take on new challenges

 Other special projects as the company continues to build its infrastructure around business needs.

This role manages the daily activities of the revenue accounting department. Ensures compliance with applicable policies and reviews contracts to ensure that revenue is recorded in compliance with GAAP. Monitors the month-end revenue close. May assist in the preparation of SEC filings or interface with external auditors as needed. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 Manage the world-wide revenue recognition functions and create policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting treatment

 

 Technical Accounting Resource for the organization as a whole

 Application of EITF 00-21, SOP 97-2, SAB 104 and VSOE principles and concepts

 Establish a partnership with Sales to ensure that proper technical guidance is followed during the contract negotiation process

 

 Review contracts, sales orders and purchase orders to assess proper revenue recognition accounting treatment

 Perform fair market value analysis for multiple element arrangements

 

 Ensure that all revenue recognition processes and procedures are up to date with the latest literature

 Work with the External Auditors to ensure the company is compliant with the latest revenue recognition rules

Qualifications

 

 Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition principles and ability to apply

 

 Strong written skills and experience writing technical memos

 Ability to wor

k independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

 Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem solving, and follow through

 

 Experience with Sarbanes Oxley internal controls a plus

 

Education/Experience

 Bachelors degree, preferably in finance or accounting

 CPA required

 

 Ten years corporate accounting or public accounting experience with Big Four firm and SEC experience
