Job Summary

The individual will work as a member of the School Nursing team, contributing to health needs assessments with individuals, families and groups.

 

The post holder will work in partnership with individuals and families delivering evidenced based programmes of care and is required to undertake the staff  nurse development course, attending university and PCT work based learning programmes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

    * 1.1) Work as a member of the School Nursing team contributing to health needs assessment with individuals, families groups and communities, sharing the outcomes with the delegating health visitor.

    * 1.2) Working in partnership with clients to deliver evidence based programmes of care, evaluating the care given and sharing the outcome with the delegating School Nursing team and the client.

    * 1.3) Participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion activities with individuals, families groups and communities.

    * 1.4) Contribute to the safeguarding of children at risk by working to the Area Child Protection Committee Guidelines

    * 1.5) Participate in immunisation programmes as appropriate

    * 2. Managerial

    * 2.1) To comply with school policies, procedures and guidelines and with relevant statutory / Department of Health directives.

    * 2.2) To attend and participate in staff meetings, case conferences and other meetings as directed.
