Solution Architect free job description
The Solution Architect is responsible for the design and architectural assurance of NGOSS solutions to either a single major client or multiple smaller clients. Working in presales and post sales project implementations, the Solution Architect interacts with the clients, the project teams and the partner organisations to ensure that the Clarity product set is positioned correctly and that the design is “fit for purpose” and will deliver the expected end-user benefits
The Design and Architecture of solutions to meet client requirements and deliver business benefits. Provide and manage the technical scope of the project.
Work with the project teams to construct a project plan that accelerates revenues and delivers short-term benefits.
Identify and understand the integration points of the solution including data stewardship (OSS owner of source); create a strategy for data migration and federation.
Capture requirements during the pre-sales stage and interpret technical requirements and business needs into a solution.
Proactively support the project manager in the flawless execution of the project by identifying and leading the mitigation of any technical gaps and/or risks. Represent us at any client governance meetings to discuss technical aspects of the project and make recommendations to enhance/progress the solution.
Identify business transitioning points and contribute to the “go-live” plan.
Be clearly identified as the senior technical lead on an assigned project – provide technical direction and mentoring for all project resources.
Manage a number of concurrent customer requirements providing a balanced assignment to each project – working simultaneously in pre and post sales situations.
Be a contributor to the creation of best practices through the identification of reusable project-level assets.
Act as a feedback mechanism to the product groups and development teams on features and functionalities; build strong and well respected relationships with peer levels in these groups. K
eep abreast of new developments in the industry and gain an understanding on how new and emerging technologies are being deployed by the carriers.
Utilise this knowledge to advance solutions and assist our customers and partners.
During implementation and deployment be a part of technical governance to ensure technical viability of any change control and monitor technical progress of the project to support timescales and financials.
Continually work to identify additional licence and services sales opportunities at the project level and within the wider client environment.
Client facing professional able to discuss at all levels the technical complexities and benefits of the solution set.
Build a "thought leadership / trusted advisor" relationship with customers and partners.
Develop deep and respected relationships with customers, partners and staff. Be flexible when working with customers and partners; demonstrate a “can do” and “must win” attitude in finding not only technical solutions to customer requirements but to support customer budgetary expectations.
Prepared to undertake challenging assignments away from home and work independently on-site with the customer and/or partner.
Support the wider Services team in providing skills mentoring and education to others.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
(proven track record in the following areas) More than 7 years experience as a senior technical member of a project or team, ideally working as an architect.
Demonstrable experience as a technical team lead on complex business transformation projects (preferably in the telecommunications sector). Previous experience working in the telecommunications sector.
Knowledge or experience of telecoms technologies or processes.
Creative thinker with a flexible approach to “winning the business” and supporting sales. Able to make senior management presentations in sales situations. Knowledge of OSS products and solutions (competing products) Graduate-level education Local language capability (where necessary)
