Supply Chain Management Job Description

Responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Supply Chain Management function including procurement of commodities, capital items and services required

Key Criteria:



Be able to formulate, communicate and execute the functions overall strategy within the wider comany approach to both internal stakeholders and the wider supply chain.


Vendor Management

Will recognise the importance part suppliers and sub-contractors play in delivering business objectives and have a good knowledge of the tools techniques and processes for selecting and managing vendors.



Able to manage the full range of procurement activities from pre-qualification, agreeing bid/tender lists, issuing ITTs/RFQs, evaluating bids, selecting and recommending vendors for award, both for PPE and/or its customers. In addition, undertake and/or support post award activities including change management, vendor performance and addressing any related issues.

Bid & Tender Support

Actively contribute to and support the tender process in relation to Supply Chain Management activities including a proactive contribution to win strategies.


Project Setup & Execution

Will have a thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management roles, responsibilities and their inter relationship to assist operations in setting up projects efficiently to support effective project start up.


Conditions of Contract 

Whilst the company has a standard suite of conditions, be able to select, negotiate and agree supply orders and subcontracts in accordance with policy and procedures.



Inspection and Expediting

Have a good knowledge of inspection and expediting activities necessary to meet project execution plans including support for the production of inspection plans and arranging expediting activities either internally or via third parties as required.




Materials Management


Have a good knowledge of material control activities necessary to meet project execution plans including tagging, coding and work pack structures.





A sound knowledge of the systems available to support the Supply Chain Management function and ideally experience of consolidation of multiple systems.





Degree or Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or equivalent
