Transport Manager job description
Reporting to the General Manager.
Responsible for ensuring that the day to day operation consistently meets the requirements of multiple customers both in terms of service as well as meeting budgetary and financial goals of the site.
Responsible for the effective management of a team that includes the Transport Shift Manager, Transport Planners and Clerks.
Must be able to demonstrate relevant Management experience in a high volume service driven transport operation.
A CPC (National & International) is a prerequisite for the position.
You will have a good understanding of legal compliance and fleet controls.
Should possess well developed analytical skills including budgeting, financial management and control.
Strong leadership and people management skills and the ability to organise and motivate a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to develop customer relationships.
Ability to manage a constantly changing and growing operation.
To ensure that the process of recruitment, variable agency usage, induction and training of all staff is effective both in terms of our legislative obligations as well as our commercial obligations to the customer.
You will be expected to be both customer and Company focused with a proactive approach as well as being able to handle and implement new ideas.
You will manage the Shared-User transport network re. Fleet management and legal compliance.
To ensure that opportunities and synergies are identified and pursued whilst ensuring day to day excellence in the ongoing operation.
