SKILLS,  EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Test professional with a good level of experience in working on agile projects, and working in an environment that is running multiple concurrent Scrums and testing experience with either manual or automated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Strong experience in testing SharePoint 2010 and 2013 based applications and websites

 

Strong experience of using Agile approaches such as BDD, TDD, User Stories, Release Planning, Retrospectives.

 

Good experience of a range of test automation tools and approaches to suit a continuous integration and test environment.

 

Good experience testing web sites and web based applications.

 

Good knowledge of JIRA or Team Foundation Server is essential.

 

A strong software testing background with both manual and automated testing experience will be essential.

 

Experience of working on Enterprise scale technology solutions is desirable.

 

Strong web security mentality.

 

Strong delivery focus, taking on tasks and following them through to delivery.

 

Knowledge of software design, development and maintenance processes.

 

You care passionately about the users you are developing for wanting to deliver the best solution for the audience. You understand the importance of user experience design and good information architecture and apply these techniques in your approach to software solutions.

 

You have extensive experience of software development methodologies, particularly Agile development. You understand the development lifecycles.

 

You are a team worker, with experience of testing applications or components developed within the team or by 3rd parties and are familiar with working with code repositories. You have experience with testing using industry standard methodologies.

 

You have great communicator skills, able to present complex information to a wide range of audiences and you are experienced in working with other testers and developers on project work based on Agile methodologies.

Free Job description Web and Portal Tester

 

1.Actively test SharePoint based applications, raising issues, liaising with developers, retesting and reporting.

 

2.Actively test web based applications, raising issues, liaising with developers, retesting and reporting.

 

3.Capable of manual testing where appropriate.

 

4.Manage the test deliverables as part of an iterative approach.

 

5.Support Behaviour Driven Development and Test Driven Development approaches..

 

6.Ensure, where possible, that an automated approach is being taken to testing where appropriate.

 

7.Make recommendations for test automation tools, set up the required framework and train other members of the team in the tool’s use

 

8.Participate proactively in developing and maintaining standards, tools and best practise in testing.

 

9.Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs.

 

10.Ensure there is visibility of overall defect levels and trends for their product team.

 

11.Work with the team and project managers to remove impediments to testing and QA.

 

12.Produce the necessary test exit reports and other documentation.

 

13.Participate in technical design workshops to understand  requirements and provide detailed development estimates for planned tranches of work.

 

14.Work within a focused team consisting of product managers, project managers, UXD, business analysts, technical architect, developers and testers.

 

15.Input into technical documentation and creation of operational run books.

 

16.Work within  quality and information security standards

17.Keep sight of end-to-end functionality rather than just focussing on individual tasks.

 

18.Develop tools and strategies to improve the effectiveness of the development and test process
