What is the job description of a Sales Representative
The Sales Representative in the Equipment Division will present and sell
equipment to current and potential customers in their designated territories.
Identify sales prospects and contact those and others accounts, as assigned.
Contact face to face every customer in their territory at least once per quarter.
Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
Prepare and submit Bid proposals to customers as necessary.
Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
Promptly respond to telephone, fax and e-mail inquiries from customers, inside sales personnel
and vendor partnerships. Phone calls and emails should be returned within a few hours but at the
most by the end of the following business day.
Service the customer during and after the sale to insure satisfaction and to promote future
business.
Work with inside sales team to generate sales quotes in Navision business system. Generate on
average 5 quotes per week in Navision.
Maintain current knowledge of competitive products including knowledge of local competitive
pricing.
Provide clear definition of customers needs to the inside sales reps to include: Vendor, Model,
Part numbers, color, size, ship to address, purchase order numbers, etc.
Work within a team concept to ensure that corporate, team, and personal goals are achieved.
Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
Identify and resolve customer concerns.
Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
Communicate new opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered
through field activity to appropriate company staff.
Attend one or two trade shows annually and interact with customers and vendors.
Attain continued market growth and profits.
Provide Vendor Tools to the Inside Sales Rep for quoting
Provide accurate sizing services to customers for PPE.
Attend all Product Training and Sales Meeting events. Any conflicts with scheduled training or
meetings will be communicated with the VP immediately. A two week notice will normally be
given on training and meetings unless there are extenuating circumstances. Appointments with
customers will need to be scheduled around the training or meeting so as to not conflict with
attendance.
Maintain an accurate Car and Demo Stock per the policy.
Provide Product Training to customers either by personally doing the training and/or working
closely with our Vendor Partners to provide training.
Working closely with Ten-8 Accounts Payable to follow-up with customers with past due
accounts.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
Must possess an unwavering dedication to Premier Customer Service and Support.
Ability to prioritize tasks, and work quickly and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability required.
Strong problem solving skills required.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
Knowledge of equipment preferred.
Background in the firefighting industry preferred.
Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image
to the public.
Ability to be a self starter and work from a remote location without direct supervision.
Work requires significant local travel to current and potential customers. This requires the
possession of a valid drivers’ license.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
