Job Summary

 

To carry out the full range of word processing and related office automation duties.

 

Main responsibilities-Word Processor Operator job description

1. To type, edit, file and print documents on word processing equipment, including audio typing.

 

2. To operate dictation equipment where installed.

 

3. To liaise with authors in respect of the layout of documents.

 

4. To carry out basic functions relating to the operating of computing equipment, electronic file management and the routing of electronic mail.

 

5. To carry out any backup and housekeeping routines necessary for the operation of their

own equipment.

6. To be responsible for the cleaning, loading of consumables and general care of their

own and other shared equipment.

 

7. To report faults to system support or other designated help desk in respect of all

equipment for which they are responsible.
